Women's Wellness

Why Women’s Wellness?

Women's Wellness?

women.jpg

It has been my focus over the past few months to really steer my work in the direction of my highest hopes and vision. Having had time to reflect on where my passion lies, and who I feel I am best able to help on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level.
It has become very clear to me, that my purpose is to provide a safe and nurturing space for women to come to unravel, reconnect and remember who they are at their core. Reclaiming their power as whole beings once again, and sharing their flavour of truth with the world around them.

You will notice some changes in my website, as I bring my focus to this very intention. In fact, the premises for my clinic was previously a conception and birth centre, dedicated to the pre-natal care of women, right through antenatal and postnatal care. So the walls are already deeply connected to this divine feminine earthy energy.

Over the next month I will be officially adding Wharetangata Ora (Womb Massage) to the list of available services to women. This is a traditional Maori technique using massage, energy healing, sounding, herbs and vibrational medicines to reach deeply into the cellular memory. Triggering the release of trauma and wounding from this life, past lives and the lives of our maternal ancestors that is held within the base, sacral and solar plexus chakras.
It is an incredibly powerful modality, that will truly leave clients transformed, and it is an absolute honour to have been trained in this work.

I am part way through Reproductive Reflexology training with renowned English Fertility Reflexologist; Barbara Scott. Currently on the hunt for case study clients who are trying to conceive, or experience reproductive conditions such as; endometriosis, fibroids, irregular cycles, peri-menopause symptoms, menopause, painful menstruation, PCOS etc.
Please contact me should you wish to apply as a case study candidate, or if you would like more information. This is powerful work, that has been developed over the past 20+ years, and is backed by fascinating research and incredible testimonials.

I am focusing on programs for children too. The Kids Meditation Club kicked off this term, and has been received so beautifully by the children. They are really loving the storytelling and the relaxation as well as having a chance to express themselves fully. It has been especially wonderful for helping children with sensory needs too. Keep an eye out for more meditation, wand making and other workshops in the school holidays!

And what about the Men you ask? At this time, it is my focus to work with women and children, or couples who are trying to conceive. This is a personal decision based purely on the fact that I know women, and am able to offer a service of the highest standard for women. I know wonderful male therapists who are passionate and specialise in men's health, and I will happily refer our dear men onto those of the highest standard and integrity.

We now have the ability (thanks to the world of technology), to offer payment plans. This means that if you are interested in workshops or membership programs it is now more affordable than ever before!
I look forward to welcoming you into the clinic soon.
With love, Laura xxx

The Strength of a Woman

We are the Midwives. The strong ones. The wise ones. We are the bringers of life and the custodians of death. Our gift. Our curse.

spiritual midwives blog post loving herself whole.jpg

Today I am searching for an answer, a conclusion in this time of New Moon, to what has felt like a battle of chaos and confusion. Longing for understanding from a place of unravel and heaviness. A time of quiet reflection and processing.

Interesting, I began finding solace in my own words. Drawn to pick up my book and read the passage Spiritual Midwives;

[Women] We remain focused and unswayed.

We are the keepers of truths

Stored deeply within the folds

Of our collective womb,

Accessible each time we vibrate

In accordance with her frequency.

A reminder that Women are chosen as the portal, the bridge between worlds, the bringers of life because we are the only vessel strong enough to stay the course. The only container equipped to survive the life-threatening process, time after time. The only being powerful enough to remain in their grace, whilst expanding and holding the depth of love required to maintain the selfless act of creation.

But with this great power and responsibility, we are also the only beings strong enough to hold death. Each month, as is reflected with the moon, when the potential of life is not fulfilled nor possible, we are the ones here to hold space for that death as it slowly and painfully crumbles away the lining of our womb. Grieving what could have been. Grieving our right to create and to nurture. Grieving a loss that was never ours to keep.

And as we expand in life and growth, we too expand our capacity to hold death and grief. This is where wisdom is born. A seed of understanding created somewhere in between the lightest and the darkest of our experiences.

We are the Midwives. The strong ones. The wise ones. We are the bringers of life and the custodians of death. Our gift. Our curse.

Spiritual But Funny As F**k

Following a spiritual path doesn't have to be serious all of the time. Find out how humour serves as a way to seed joy in every day, when maintaining healing and spiritual process.

humour.jpg

One thing I have learned through the years of peeling back the layers, in all the dark corners of my psyche, there is a common medicine that helps to overcome it all, make way for truth and shine more light.

Good old fashioned laughter! Literally, I start feeling depressed if I don't get a healthy daily dose of the funnies. Sarcasm…check! Toilet humour…check! Sexual innuendos (in your end-o)…Puns…Dad Jokes…check check check! If there is a joke (especially if it comes with shock factor) you can guarantee I am there, front row and centre.

It is my belief that humour is such an integral tool in my life and personal development for many reasons. Firstly, in my years of working through spiritual process, the way to change old habits is to feel into it, acknowledge the ‘who what and why’, and then release it for transmutation and healing. Releasing can be done in a number of ways including a big emotional release, or some mind exercises (eg imagine severing cords to the old relationship or habit that no longer serves you), assistance from alternative therapies such as flower essences, body work etc, or a combination of these.
Often after a release, our energy takes some time to shuffle around, recalibrate and integrate our new way of being. It can feel sometimes like there are little holes within our makeup, and the world can seem overwhelming or unfamiliar while the dust settles. Cementing new positive habits in those old worn out spaces with joy, will assist in create that new foundation for the path you are on, and the simplest  way to achieve a state of joy, is through laughter.
As a typical Aquarian, most of the time without realizing, I can appear a bit aloof. My mind is always wandering off into the clouds. A dreamer and over-thinker on a global scale. The chatter rarely stops, and even if I am standing in one place, my mind is likely in several at once.  Humour and laughter helps me to reintegrate into my body and be more grounded, in a gentle and fun way, and eases the heaviness of what it feels to be human, allowing moments for connection and inspiration to remain good and positive.
I am also curious about how we connect and interact as human beings. Lightheartedness and laughter is a simple way to make friends, or in some cases scare people off (They are not your people)!
I feel like sometimes when we dive into a spiritual journey or calling, we forget that we are still here to have a human experience and enjoy ourselves. I have known many who've been caught in a game of ‘who is more spiritual than who’, which becomes a freakish display of battling egos, full of judgement and façade as they compete for the most likes on social media. (It can also be hilarious!)
My advice would be, not to take yourself so seriously. Don’t try to be a Guru or expert, just be yourself. Those who resonate will find you, and you will be enough. You are always enough. The very fact that you can feel you heart beating through your chest, knowing you are alive, means that you matter, just as you are, without the needing to be anything different. We are all on our own journey and there is more than enough room for each to be their own unique piece of the puzzle.
And so with love and giggles, I invite you to fart on someone’s head and have a good laugh about it, until next time. xxx
